Remela Reef - The Remela reef is a point with much magic around it. First it is the furthest reef from our continental waters, 12 miles from land. Then because it is side-by-side with the Nazaré trench, with its abyssal depths. The top of the reef reaches the 10 meters and its walls drop suddenly to 40. From there it descends by steps until who knows where… This is a point to look for Big Groupers. In the top of the reef Sea-bream arrive for times in shoals and pelagics are always possible to see cruising in the blue.

SHIPWRECK CEMETARY – In the north of the bay of the Farilhões there is an area that is so full of shipwrecks that it is known as the Shipwreck Cemetary. Here we can find the remaining parts of the Henry Mori, the Camrose, the Highland Hope, the Eldorado and a little further East the Rio Grande. We will make an individual analysis of the most frequented.

Farilhão of the hollow – The second biggest rock of the Farilhões, like its neighboring Tail-of-donkey, has caves and a wall of Gorgonias. It has the advantage of, due to its lesser depth, to be a more accessible diving. The dive is usually started in the East tip of the rock, next to the small cave, where we can find the red Gorgonias at a lesser depth, only at 5 meters. From there we follow West with the wall on the right side and a few meters up front we find the second cave. This cave has a sweet water spring in the ceiling, water that doesn’t mix with the salty one bellow giving an oil effect to it. One shouldn’t penetrate this cave, however. It is slimy and visibility is easily lost. Leaving the cave we continue with the wall on the right side until we arrive at the canyon of the Gorgonias, then following until the end of the wall.

Ferreiros - This is an easy and interesting diving. In the Ferreiros there are two caves, both inhabited by great Fork-beards, one having a very curious entrance of light. It also has lots of picking spots. Scorpionfish are always there.

Rabo-de-asno /Tail-of-donkey - Probably the most wanted diving spot of the Farilhões, this is the dive that everybody wants to do. The rock is famous for its wall covered of red Gorgonias (Paramuricea Clavata) and for its cave. Its blue water makes the wall similar to a coral wall as we usually find in the tropical seas. In certain parts the density of the Gorgonias covers the rock completely. Inside the cave we still find Gorgonia lined walls and the shoals of Pouting sometimes cover the sight. It is a dive with usual currents which brings pelagics to feed along the wall and in the extremities of the rock there are usually Sea-bream.
